My bro and I were feeling gourmet for lunch today so we rushed out to do a little grocery shopping.
I made flat noodle pasta with seafood in tomato-based sauce. Seafood in italics because it’s faux seafood! Fish tofu, crab sticks, squid balls cooked in crushed tomatoes. I wasn’t able to get shitake mushrooms, fresh squid and shrimp. Since mom’s allergic to shrimp, I usually separate sauce for her before I add in the shrimps. But since I had other stuff cooking, I had no time to do that.
Grilled cream dory fillet. I just seasoned it with salt, pepper, thyme and basil.
Found out late that we didn’t have a masher anywhere in the kitchen, so I had to do it old school —- with a good ol’ fork, that is! I just made sure to boil the potatoes well so it’ll turn out soft & easy to mash. Add in salt, milk and lots of butter and I didn’t even have to make gravy for this!
Add in a slice of french baguette and voila! Feeling gourmet lunch! XD
I was happy to slave away in the kitchen because everyone had seconds [and thirds, actually!].Too bad my little sister is in Other-Side-Of-The-Planet, Alaska.
